My sophomore year of high school, I tore my ACL and thought my basketball career was over. It took me months of rehab to get me back on the court and every step of the way Karen was my biggest supporter. I went on to lead my school to CIF Finals for its first time in 30 years and finished high school basketball as my team's MVP, First Team All CIF, and First Team All League. I went on to play at Cypress College, then earned a full ride scholarship to play basketball for the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Without the dedication and attentiveness Karen showed, I don’t know if I would have had the career I did. She is so knowledgeable and really explains your injury and what it will take to overcome it. Karen takes a very balanced approach to therapy – pushing you to your limits, but nothing past what you are not ready for. It felt very comforting to know that she is invested in helping you reach your goals and will not stop until she finds the solution to your problems. 100% would recommend her to anyone looking for GREAT physical therapy. Thanks for everything Karen!!

I'm a physical therapist who has worked in a variety of different PT clinics, but when I personally need physical therapy THIS is where I go. There are plenty of places where you can get good rehab despite the fact that you'll spend a good portion of your time in the clinic with an aide or exercising on your own, but at MoveWell the therapist's eyes and/or hands are on you almost full time. There is a good balance in that they include both manual therapy and instructions for "homework". Exercise instruction is precise and progressive. There is absolutely no "busy work" nor filler activities--every moment is spent working on your individual issue, and toward a specific goal.

Karen is honestly the best therapist I've ever met--not just knowledgeable but intuitive and kind (so you never feel judged as she corrects your form). I've not been treated by Michael or Claudia, but I've watched/listened to them enough to see that they are also top notch therapists as well.

I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend MoveWell for absolutely any physical issue you could dream up!

Six weeks after having lumbar fusion surgery, I began post-op physical therapy with Claudia. Since my very first session, I have experienced positive results with Claudia’s skillful approach to physical therapy. She gives very clear explanations of the different types of therapy she provides. Claudia guides me step-by-step through exercises with encouraging words and helpful feedback to maximize each physical therapy session. Time spent in PT with Claudia is time well-spent. She also provides realistic at-home exercises. I leave feeling well-prepared to continue my PT at home until my next session with Claudia. Her friendly, attentive, and caring manner have made all the difference in my recovery efforts in physical therapy. I would highly recommend Claudia for any physical therapy needs you may have.

Going to physical therapy is no one’s idea of a party. If you’re going to PT, it’s because something isn’t right- injury, accident, post-surgical recovery, pain, dislocation, whatever - but my goodness, if you have to go, go to MoveWell. The folks up front are the friendliest, most professional assistants I have ever encountered, and Michael Joseph is simply a god-send. His knowledge and experience are obviously extensive as he is extremely comfortable going through a variety of tailored exercises with all kinds of different equipment and tools. He’s friendly and professional - and he gets results. I was in so much pain a month ago that I couldn’t walk down stairs without wincing, and I was not sleeping well, either. After 7 visits, I am virtually pain-free, which feels miraculous to me. And it is thanks to Michael and MoveWell. As an added bonus, the facility is new, with state-of-the-art equipment, and it is never crowded feeling. I love it. And that is saying a lot about a Physical Therapy place….

Wanted to say thank you to Karen Wakamoto and her outstanding staff for helping me get to the finish line of Ironman Arizona. Two months before the race I started having knee problems and worried about making it to the starting line. I went to Karen and her professionalism and commitment to her profession enabled me to cross the finish line in a Personal Record and also through the whole 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile run, I felt no pain!!! Thanks Karen.

I can’t speak highly enough of the physical therapy I received from Claudia Shea at MoveWell PT. After spinal fusion surgery with complications, I wasn’t sure if I would ever feel “normal” again. With Claudia’s encouragement, patience and expertise, I find myself in better shape than I was before the surgery, with a stronger core and a set of exercises that I can do to keep myself strong and healthy. My love of tennis is once again a part of my life. Thank you Claudia!

I had spinal fusion of my lower two discs in 2016. I had seen Karen before the surgery, as she tried to keep the pain tolerable, and help strengthen/proper use of my muscles until I could have the surgery. Once surgery was done I was allowed to go back to Karen. I can’t say enough about her knowledge, and ability to figure out what exercises you need to do to strengthen, and get the proper chain of muscles firing, so that my body now functions like it did before injury. I returned to my work requiring extensive walking and climbing ladders, I'm back to golf and paddle boarding.

The most important thing I can tell you is, she can get you functioning like you want, but only if you are going to do your part, which is doing the exercises when you're not at her office also. It’s a team effort, and she is my first round draft choice for my team.

My name is Reine and I am 71 years young again. After having arthroscopic surgery on my knee for a torn meniscus I went to PT at a different clinic for the usual regimen for such a procedure. Unfortunately, I did not feel my knee was much stronger or flexible, so I was resigned in thinking "this is just the way it is going to be". However, after getting treatments by Karen Wakamoto, my knee, my posture, my gait, and my core (what's that?) were re-aligned for great balance, strength, and mobility. Today I can walk briskly on a treadmill for four miles regularly (without having to hold on!)... without pain, without swelling, and with ease. I got my joy of movement back and even enjoyed "backpacking" through Europe with my daughters this spring.
